Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
  • Make ESN Accessible
Goal of the event:
The goal of the event was to raise awareness about people with disabilities, about all aspects of their everyday life. We tried to motivate international students to pay more attention to people around them and to think about how they could contribute to their easier life.
Short description of the event:
The first part consisted of an official ExchangeAbility presentation, explaining the key terms like what is EA project and why do we engage in these activities. We also talked about inclusion and what it means to international students. We talked about their home universities and if they are accessible for all. We tried to draw a conclusion and to encourage them to think about this part of their Erasmus experience. We wanted to show them that studying abroad does not mean only partying and travelling. There are many more dimensions to it. The second part consisted of a workshop- a game of different roles. One ESN-er made students imagine different situations and they had to think if they would be able to do it as a disabled person.
How did your event go?:
It went well, but there is a big BUT. I was surprised that only 3 International students appeared, and I think that it will be better next time if we try harder to motivate them to come and experience another dimension of their Erasmus experience.
