Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
This event took place during the Orientation Week. With this event we presented SocialErasmus and ExchangeAbilityn projects. The main goal of this event it to give exchange students an opportunity to feel what it is like to not be able to see and to get a better understanding of people with disabilities.
Short description of the event:
The Invisible Exhibition is a unique interactive journey to an invisible world, where in total darkness students find your way out only by touch, sounds and scent.
Students had a chance to understand what life is like without one of the crucial senses. At this exhibition we were led by blind person. At the Invisible Exhibition in Prague, the participants obtain information exclusively through touch, hearing, scent and their sense of balance. In a new situation we had experienced that the other world, that is still beautiful without this key sense.
The exhibition brings the worlds with and without sight closer to each other and teaches through positive experiences how can we help and understand these who cannot see. At the other venue of the exhibition were devices and objects used by blind people on a daily basis.
How did your event go?:
This experience was mind changing for all the participants. We got a chance to talk with our guide and find out about her life story.
Also, we played games that blind people use and learned how they read.

The lady was our guide at the exhibition. She was very kind and open and was happy to share with us her feelings and experience. We understood that disability should not limit people, their chances and options. Also, it is important to be in contact with people with disabilities, to understand them and be patient. Being in touch with them can enrich our lives.
