Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
The goal of this event was to raise awareness about how can be different and difficult for mutilated people - or people with similar kind of phisycal disabilities - to live and make everyday activities.
Short description of the event:
For the EA Week Spring 2017, ESN Cagliari organized on the 20th of March 2017 the AperiPainting Ability event. The main theme of this kind of event is the sensitivity over the motor disability caused by the loss of the limbs applied to the painting, a daily and simple activity for an able-bodied person.
The event was set at the Hostel Marina, a hospitalitystructure with a huge courtyard where we placed a series of tables with canvas, temperas, brushes and all the stuff used for the activity.
To make the event more complete, we also had an aperitif for creating an occasion of social interaction among the participants.
Before the start, the local coordinator of the EA project explained briefly in what the project itself and the event consist of, in order to make conscious the participants about the thematics of the disablity.
The painting activity, where the use of the hand was abolished, had been executed in different ways by the Erasmus students by using the feet, the mouth or with the help of inventions improvised at the time (for example a brush placed on a hat). Then, it was given the chance to the participants to paint on different canvas where others had already painted something, in order to make the event more creative and engaging, and create a common sense of cooperation and solidarity.
