Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
Show international students how life is for a blind person and teaching them how to play this adapted sport (goalball) while they have fun, meet new people and take part into inclusive events.
Short description of the event:
Our delegation in Vitoria contacted the association "Itxaropena" that organises activities for people who have vision problems and they organised a goalball match all together in the facilities they count with. The first step was to explain how the sport worked as it is a sport which was specifically created for blind people and was new for the international students who took part. Afterwards, international students and ESNers covered their eyes and they joined the people from Itxaropena in the place where the real match would take place. Our ESN team enjoyed playing this game with the eyes covered while they were focusing on other senses (such as hearing), meeting new friends and living a whole new experience during their exchange in Spain.
How did your event go?:
It was a very nice event as it was the first time our coordinators in Vitoria organised it and they had so much fun while raising awareness.
