Goal of the event:
6 universities of Budapest (Semmelweis, SZIE, Corvinus, ELTE, IBS, NUPS), we decided to organize together events on ExchangeAbility Week. We decided to hold a beginner sign language course, when the hearing students can learn the basics. Our aim is to continue this project and hold sign language courses during the next semester.

Have you ever heard about a SIGN LANGUAGE?
A sign language is a language which chiefly uses manual communication to convey meaning, as opposed to acoustically conveyed sound patterns. This can involve simultaneously combining hand shapes, orientation and movement of the hands, arms or body, and facial expressions to express a speaker's thoughts.
Wherever communities of deaf people exist, sign languages have developed, and are at the cores of local deaf cultures. Although signing is used primarily by the deaf, it is also used by others, such as people who can hear, but cannot physically speak.
It is not clear how many sign languages there are. A common misconception is that all sign languages are the same worldwide or that sign language is international. Each country generally has its own, native sign language, and some have more than one. The 2013 edition of Ethnologue lists 137 sign languages.
We organized a little sign language course, when the students could learn the basics, how can they "say" hello, sorry, bye, numbers, alphabet, colors...
Who was the teacher? Students from University who are interested in sign language and who are learning signs. They are learning two different types of Sign Language, you can learn Hungarian Sign Language and Ameican Sign Language.

More students cam what we think, it was really succesful events :)
Tthey enjoyed the time with us, we are so happy and we got motivation for the next course :)
