Goal of the event:
The aim of this event was to point out the way of life of people, not only with this disability, but generally. We believe that identification creates compassion towards all that is different from the world we live in and in that way we can create an equal society which will accept and respect all.
Short description of the event:
This Dinner in the Dark was held at Old Bridge Pub in Osijek. We first arranged everything with the Pub and then with the food delivering company, because there were lot of interested participants. Around 50 people applied for this Dinner, so we had to make sure everything goes as planned. When we finnaly gathered in the Pub, some of us blindfolded Erasmus students, locals who participated and other ESNers. After that we took them to their seats and left them chat for a bit while waiting the food to be ready and served. We had two types of menus, vegetarian and meat one.
How did your event go?:
It went really well, because the participants did not take off scarfs from their eyes until they finished all that was in their plate. We got a positive feedback from them and everyone was satisfied with the food choices. We all enjoyed in this new experience and would like to continue raising awareness in these types of events.
