Goal of the event:
The goal of the event was to raise awareness among the international students that there might be students with any kind of disability at their sending university as well as at their receiving university. Promoting mobility to them/their friends and colleagues at their universities at home was another goal. We explained that there will me more events within the EA project in future.
Short description of the event:
Every week we show a Spanish film to the incoming students in Spanish with subtitles in English. During the ExchangeAbility Week we showed a short film before the main movie. The short film was called "Cuerdas" from Pedro Solís García, which is based on a real story. It relates the arrival of a boy, who is tetraplegic, to his new school. He has no friends except one girl who tries to adapt many games to his situation and make him smile.
Before showing it, we introduced the project ExchangeAbility in a few words so the Erasmus students could understand the connection between the project and the film.
How did your event go?:
It was quite last minute event but it went okay. Some Erasmus students showed interest to participate in future events within ExchangeAbility project. For upcoming times we will choose a movie concerning the topic as the main movie and not just a short film before the main movie.
