Goal of the event:
Inform future high school students about several opportunities which have in high school and university. We also wanted to involve some Erasmus students and share their experience as students in another country.
Short description of the event:
On 24th of March, during our first event of #ExchangeAbilityWeek, we had the chance to interact with children from Școala Gimnazială Specială pentru Deficienți de Vedere București (Elementary School for Visually Impaired Children).
The kids are in the final year before high school and we talked about European context, what advantages they have, opportunities and some best practices from the Erasmus students experience.
The discussion was mediated by a volunteer which also translated what the kids did not understand. Near the end of the meeting, the kids showed us how they write on Braille and shared some information about it.
How did your event go?:
Overall it went well but is always space for improvement. Being only one ESNer was a little bit hard to maintain the discussion and at some point translate the discussion. We also adapted the topics on the place because the kids wanted to hear also why the Erasmus students came in Romania, but we reached our goal to inform them about Erasmus opportunities. We talked about the children expectation and what they want to be when they grow.
