Goal of the event:
As part of the ExchangeAbility project, the goal was to raise awareness towards people with disabilities. In this event, we had a focus on physically impaired people, so the participants could actually experience how it feels like to be physically impaired. It was also held in a café where usually locals go, so mingling international students with locals was also an aim.
Short description of the event:
Lip Sync Battle is when different people performing on stage, presenting a song, but without actually singing - it is played behind. They are also able to use different gadgets or objects (like chair, costume, etc), to make the performance even more enjoyable. During the songs, some people are selected from the audience to join the activity. With a headphone all sounds are blocked and the volunteer will have to guess which song is playing by just watching the lip syncing - so this way they can experience how does it feel like to be physically impaired. There are presenters who guide the performers and the volunteers, and also a jury, that speaks and gives an opinion after each performance.
How did your event go?:
It went very smoothly, the performers and the volunteers both really enjoyed the event. There were more people who decided to join on the spot.
