Goal of the event:
ESN KISA aimed to complete the mapping of the Kuopio campus of UEF. In addition, previously mapped buildings were updated. The event was organized in order to increase the amount of accessibility information available.
Short description of the event:
To promote ExchangeAbility Week, three board members, including the local ExchangeAbility coordinator, along with six active members and one guest updated two buildings and added a new building to the UEF Kuopio database. Accessibility information for Canthia and Studentia was updated, while Ravintola Tietoteknia was a new addition to the map. While strolling through campus, participants reflected on what accessibility means to them and shared their thoughts on areas for improvement within the campus buildings. Currently the database for UEF Kuopio is complete, which we hope will open the door to students with disabilities that are interested in studying in Kuopio.
How did your event go?:
The event went well! Participants were interested in contributing to accessibility on the local level and became more aware of the resources on campus for those that use wheelchairs, or have visual/ hearing impairments.
