Goal of the event:
Raise awareness of the difficulty of losing mobility or one of the five senses and performing as one normally would.
Advocate for more accessibility and integration. Show young people the difficulties of people with disabilities.
Short description of the event:
ESN Porto took a group of international students to try out some famous paralympic sports: goalball, boccia and sitted volleyball. We partnered with the the Sports Center of the the University of Porto (CDUP). For each sport we divided in teams and competed against each other. Before each sport there was a tutorial by someone from CDUP.
We aimed to raise awareness of the the difficulty of losing mobility or one of the the five senses and performing as one normally would. There were 4 students present. All of them enjoyed the the afternoon and left with some increased knowledge.
