Description
Aim of the event:
  • Promote mobility
  • Raise Awareness
  • Make ESN Accessible
Goal of the event:
The goal was to raise awareness about people with difficulties. We wanted to give a courage to persons with fear to go erasmus alone because they have special needs other than anxiety or fear of being alone.
Short description of the event:
We made a sign language class for the first event of exchange ability week as ESN Okan. This event was for understanding and communicate with hearing impaired persons. We tried to learn basic sentences to deal with situations which we want to help people. We tried to gain basic communication skills and trying to develop empathy. The content of event was learning alphabet, colors, family, countries, sentences for basic conversation and the story of sign language. It was hard to communicate with signs and body because we could not use our voice to talk. We wanted to say that erasmus is an exchange of ability and it is a chance for everyone.
How did your event go?:
It was nice. Everyone was smiling and having fun while we're trying to use our body language. I think, we can make it bigger next time and everyone can attend.
