Description
Aim of the event:
  • Raise Awareness
Goal of the event:
We aimed to create and raise awareness for the people with hearing and speech impairment. We used only our pencils and papers to discuss important topics and express our opinions.
Short description of the event:
We gathered with our Erasmus students around a big peace of paper to discuss about 2 topics in a written form, where the only rule was to not speak and just write. Our topics were Captivity and Migration. Everyone got their pens and started expanding the topic, such as writing questions about it or giving a response to someone's writings. Since we had 2 topics, everyone was switching their positions and walking all over the paper. The ideas flourished very quickly and it was amazing to see how interesting it got throughout the discussion.
We saw that there are many ways to communicate and speaking was something that we took for guarenteed in ourselves.
How did your event go?:
The flow was amazing, everyone was constantly writing and reading other's writings. We realized that when our opinions are written down, we could understand each other better and give better responses, which is something we miss when we have an oral discussion, due to our impatience and lack of our ability to listen others. Participants pointed out that it exceeded their expectations and wished the discussion never ended.
